Mary Shelley was an English novelist renowned for her fictional writing and the ghastly themes she employed in her novels. She was born to Mary Wollstonecraft and William Godwin who were literarily and politically active. Her mother was a feminist and the author of ‘A Vindication of the Rights of Woman.’

She later edited the poems of her husband, Percy Bysshe Shelley. Mary Shelley was a famous female poet and novelist of the 1800’s. Her most well known novel was titled Frankenstein: or The Modern Prometheus, which was released anonymously when she was at the age of 21.
